The New Operationsports.com?

I have been coming to this website for as long as I can remember and even though it says I have only been a member since 2008, I was visiting even before that. Within the past 3 months or so I feel as if every other write up on the main page is extremely overcritical or negative. OS used to be where I came to feel good about sports video games and share my passion within the forums. Articles used to always look at the positives and still make you feel good about the game, regardless of its flaws, which all video games do have.

This most recent write up telling people 5 reasons why they shouldn't get NCAA13 finally pushed me to write this blog. I understand the game has some issues, but don't make me feel bad for having purchased it and trying to enjoy it for what it is. People used to get banned for coming on and bashing Madden and other games in blogs and forums. Now the main OS writers do it weekly themselves.

I am still and will always be a fan of this site but I wish it would just try and look at the bright side of things when it comes to sports video games more often. I want to come here to feel good about myself and the games I play, not saddened and disappointed in my purchase and love of gaming.

...and on a side note, there have been way too many articles having nothing to do with sports video games lately. I just feel that this site has truly lost its identity and is trying to be something it's not.

some people play to complain... some play to compete. I think the expectation of the consumer has become very high when it comes to software development and I think some sites play to that sentiment to enhance profits.. no doubt that happens.

I have noticed the same. I'm starting to feel as if many of these people are incapable of being pleased. Many of them are repeat criticizers. Purchase the same games every year just to throw down more hate in threads and articles. Apparently, they spend $65 just to do so and talk about how they are about to trade it in.

Amen. If u hate the game soooooo much year after year quit buying it. There will never ever be the perfect sports game or close to perfect sports game because if they made it perfect people would just complain about having to pay for updated rosters. It's a game nothing more nothing less. Enjoy it for what it is. Stop buying the game if your going to B***h about it every single year... Great Blog

Nice read; I believe that Operation Sports has had a both positive and negative effect on me. I have become even more critical of games, but I am still enjoying myself.

Nice write up. I like the reviews no matter if they are good or bad, and I agree that we shouldn't have write ups about why we should not buy a game. I think people are expecting way to much from a game now days. Now days people are bashing games before they are even released. They start complaining because something was taken out, or something they wanted to see was not added. You always here people say "they never listen to their customers." I don't think it is that simple. They are so many people saying they want so many different things, that the companies can only do so much. I think they need to stop making them every year and just do it every 2 years, and spend more time on a game. Don't get me wrong, I am not siding with the companies here, I just think they deserve to be cut a break sometimes. And I know there are bugs in games that have been there for 2 or 3 years or more without being fixed, and that is wrong they should be able to fix them by now.
